About
Awesome Music is a record label/management company with a separate publishing arm (Awesome Publishing Inc.). The founder and president, Mr. Asim "Awesome" Awan, started the label in 1997 selling vinyl records out of the truck.
Today, Awesome Music is distributed by EMI Music Canada and has both international and domestic artists under contract. Some of these artists include two time Juno award winning Sound Bluntz, multi-platinum artist Cascada, Sweden's pop/dance sensation September (who has a certified gold single in Canada for "Cry For You.").
Awesome Publishing Inc., a separate publishing division, operates as an A&R source for Nettwerk Songs Publishing. Together the two companies publish The Perishers, a band out of Stockholm, Sweden managed by Terry McBride. Awesome Publishing Inc. also co-publishes the entire Energy Catalogue for Canada. This catalogue includes such hit dance/pop acts as Whigfield, Ingrid, as well as Benny Bennasi. Awesome Publishing (through its joint venture with Nettwerk) acquired publishing rights to one of the main writers of the Basshunter project worldwide (ex UK). Basshunter, originating out of Sweden, has been one of the biggest selling electronic artists of 2008-9.
Awesome Management handles the exclusive management rights for Sound Bluntz (an electronic music duo that have achieved chart topping status in markets including Australia, UK and Canada). Awesome Management manages JoSH (a world music act). JoSH are signed to Universal in India. In 2008 at the Musik awards in Pakistan, JoSH won Best Bhangra Song of the year. In 2005, JoSH won the MTV India award for Best New Group. JoSH are the only South Asian producers/artists to work with a superstar artist (they remixed Nelly Furtado's hit singles "Promiscuous," "Maneater" and "Say What You Want"). JoSH recently won Best Bhangra song for "Nasha Pyar Da" from their last studio album Mausam. "Mahi Ve" (the first single from Mausam) reached #1 on the BBC Asian Charts in the UK, as well as top 10 sales and chart achievements in Pakistan and the Middle East.
Awesome Music in 2009 has branched into further development of domestic local music and has started a music services company that works with Canadian artists to provide them with distribution, marketing, product management, promotion, as well as guidance in furthering their careers both domestically and internationally. Awesome oversees the #1 North American Electronic Dance Label, Ultra Records. Ultra specializes in releasing branded compilation albums. Ultra has a strong electronic DJ roster including Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Kaskade, deadmau5 (the most successful Canadian artist of 2009 to break internationally).

We love to receive your demos. Please don’t send too much material to begin with, 3 or 4 of your best tracks is a great start. We’re not able to reply individually to everyone, but we can assure you that all demos are reviewed and if we like what we hear we’ll be in touch. If you are submitting a demo by post then our preferred format is CD. Please send your demos to:

Promos & Review Copies
We do not have an in-house club mailing list – if you send us full details of what you’re looking for we’ll try to forward your request to the correct person.
If you are outside Canada you must contact our local licensee. If you don’t know who this is, please email your request, remembering to give details of the country you’re in.
If you are in Canada writing for a publication based outside Canada (print or web), please send a note from your editor (or relevant authority) vouching your accreditation and contact Awesome Music’s local representative to nominate you to be added to the mailing list for Canadian based international journalists. At the moment the list is full to capacity, but new applications will be kept on file until the list is reviewed.

Awesome Music is unable to provide guest list places or back stage passes for any live dates. Sorry.
Autographs
We’re very sorry, but we’re not able to help with requests for signed items or autographs. We get a huge volume of requests every day and it’s not practical for us to arrange this.
